Happy Thanksgiving all!

You know, I thought today was gonna be like all the other years. A few family members show up, get the food, and I withdraw to my room to be ignored like usual. But this morning, when I brought up AOL, something caught my eye and that something made my day. On FOX, as I type this, is a show put on for Cancer survivors. It's called Kaleidoscope, hosted by Olivia Newton-John and Dave Foster. It wasn't the meaning behind it that caught my eye though, it's one of the performers within it. I've been a Major fan of his for years and when I saw taht he was coming back to the ice after six years, I couldn't help but be excited. Scott Hamilton is definately an inspiration for me. Being able to see him skate again just brightened my day. Along with him, breast cancer survivor and fellow skater, Dorothy Hamill is performing as well. So is Kristi Yamaguchi, whom I haven't seen in years either.

Mind you, there are others there as well, but the fact that Scott is back is just....amazing for me.I missed watching him perform and he even did his signature back flip which almost brought tears to my eyes. He is also a cancer survivor

But aside from his return, this show also kind of hits me hard because I lost my grandmother to a tumor in her heart. To this day, I don't know if it was truly cancer, but I have a feeling that it was. More recently, my friend's mother (whom is like my second mother) had masses found inside her. No one was sure if they were cancer, but fortunately enough, they weren't. She is now at home recovering from having surgery to remove a dead kidney and her female organs (onto which the masses had grown). But there are so many more who are going through this even as we speak. My heart goes out to the families who have lost loved ones to Cancer and also to the survivors of it. It really goes to the ones who have it now and are living with it, trying to survive, never giving up.

My thanks this year go to the survivors for giving everyone hope and to everyone who is taking part in Kaleidoscope, whether it was palnning or performing.
